Who we are
frogFM is an online radio project. You can reach us at hello@frogfm.com.
What we know about you
As little as possible. This site has no cookies, no analytics, no ads and no third-party scripts. The pages, fonts and records all come from our own server.
- The radio's memory. Your browser keeps a note of which record was playing, how far in, and your volume, so the pop-out radio can carry on where the page left off. That note stays on your device and never reaches us. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.
- The server. Like any website, our server sees your IP address in order to send you the pages and music. It also uses the address to check which country you're in, because the music is switched off in the United States (see below). The check happens on our server, against a list we keep there; nothing is sent anywhere else. We don't keep visitor logs.
- Writing to us. The "Write to us" postcard opens your own email app. We only receive what you choose to send, use it to reply, and delete it when we no longer need it.
Under the GDPR you can ask us what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted, at the address above. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority (ANSPDCP, dataprotection.ro).
The music
frogFM plays old records that, as far as we can tell, are in the public domain in the European Union: each recording was published before 1963, and each song is either traditional or by a composer who died more than 70 years ago. The copies come from the Internet Archive.
Copyright on old recordings lasts longer in the United States, and some of these records are still protected there. So the music is switched off for visitors in the US. The country check uses IP Geolocation by DB-IP, licensed under CC BY 4.0.
If you hold rights in any of these and think we've got it wrong, write to us and we'll take the record off air while we check.
